This is a hands-on class: you'll work the whole time on a simulator layered like real human anatomy — skin, fascia, fat, muscle.
Procedures covered:
- Wound closure, suturing & knot-tying across true tissue layers
- Lipoma excision — the full surgical sequence, ligation through removal

Continuing Education
This continuing education activity is approved for 4 CE credits by the Association of Surgical Technologists, Inc., for continuing education for the CST, CSFA, and Associate Members of AST. This recognition does not imply that AST approves or endorses any product or products that are included in presentations.
For Certified Nurse-Midwives (CNM/CM) and Registered Nurses: AST credits are issued for surgical technologists and are not midwifery or nursing CE. Please confirm acceptance with the AMCB (midwives) or the Texas Board of Nursing (RNs) for your renewal.

Before your session, we ship your simulator and full instrument kit to your door. It mails the Wednesday before class — so register early. It's yours to keep and practice on after.
Join live on Zoom
At 9:00 AM CT you join from your own table. Rob Sanchez, CST — 20 years in the OR — teaches live, demonstrating each technique on camera before you try it.
Work the whole time
You practice on real tissue layers — skin, fascia, fat, muscle. Wound closure, suturing, and knot-tying, then a full lipoma excision from ligation through removal, with feedback as you go.
Earn your 4 CE credits
Class runs to 1:30 PM CT. Have your AST certification number ready — we report your 4 AST-approved CE credits after the session.
